Marc Seal here and wow, I have a lot to tell you. I have been so busy these past few months,
writing a new CD, rehearsing and doing a few shows with my band, securing sponsorships and
really putting a lot into my career. We are looking at a national release and distribution for
Transformation 7 real soon and then I am finishing my new vocal CD slated for late summer or
early fall. I plan on playing a lot of shows this summer and doing some special appearances
starting with San Diego morning news on April 22nd, 2004 channel 9, followed by the Derby
in LA on May 6th, 2004.
I have also lucked out by finding and hiring Susan Moore as our editor in chief which means
these newsletters will be much more consistent as I never really have time to do them myself.
Look for them, they will keep you 'in the know' on what we are up to over here at marcseal.com
enterprises < wink >.
A cool story:
Wednesday (4-7-2004) was one of the most fun days I have had in a long time. It started by a
personal invitation to a private tour of the Taylor Guitars facility in El Cajon, CA. It was
absolutely awesome! We arrived Dale(manager), James (publicist) and myself and we were greeted
by the head of Artist relations. We went to his office and spent a good deal of time talking
about Taylor guitars, how they are made, what makes them special etc...He was very knowledgeable
and taught me a lot. I then tried out a bunch of them. Every time I finished with one, they
brought me another to compare it with. It was difficult to make up my mind so Bob
(Artist relations for Taylor) says, "Marc, why don't you take 4-5 guitars home with you for a
month and figure out which one you like best." I know the price of the guitars and I think to
myself, I don't want to take home $20,000 worth of guitars so I say, "let me narrow it down to
a couple," which I did, the 814ce and the 714ce. Bob says "great, lets go to lunch then we'll
go tour the factory and have those guitars set-up for you." I am thinking YES! so we have a
great lunch, Bob is a great guy and we go back to the factory and tour the most awesome facility
I have ever seen. Guitars, wood workers, machines, lasers and all kinds of cool stuff making
the ultimate acoustic guitars (all the while my 2 guitars are being set-up just for me)! So we
get some picture of the tour, I get my guitars and we head off to the merchandise shop where
Bob stokes me out on a beautiful strap for the guitars, t-shirts, hats etc...we finish everything
up (4 hours later) and I am driving home with 2 of the coolest Taylor Guitars I have ever seen
and now I have a decision to make as to which one I like best and am going to use on my new
CD....ahhh, decisions, decisions....It looks like the 814ce is going to win! thanks Bob and
Taylor for a great day!
On a personal note, my wife and son are doing great. Kyler (my son) is getting so big, he is 50%
on weight, but 90% on height! Maybe he will be a Laker after all! He has been a real joy for me
and he constantly cracks me up, I love being a father. Until next month, check out all the new
stuff on the site, visit my sponsors and pick yourself up a little gift at the marcseal.com STORE,
you deserve it!
Rock on my friends,
Marc
